SESAAB group consolidates with Méthode

Headquartered in the perfectly-preserved medieval hilltown of Bergamo, the SESAAB publishing group manages a portfolio of newspapers, digital editions and local broadcasting that serves the northern part of one of Europe’s most prosperous regions.

As part of a move to achieve greater integration between its media operations, the group has chosen EidosMedia’s multiple-media editorial and publishing platform, Méthode. The decision followed an extensive comparative appraisal of the available solutions by the group’s editorial and IT management.
Each of the group’s dailies uses a separate editorial system and cannot easily share content between each other or with the online editions. Bringing them onto a common platform will allow the use of dedicated teams for news content that is common to all titles, such as sport.

The adoption of Méthode will allow the group to add a tablet edition to its portfolio. The tablet edition will be generated from the content of the print and Web editions using Méthode’s latest integrated tablet-publishing functions. The move to Méthode will also allow the consolidation of all of the contents in the group’s current editorial archives into a single digital asset management system..

“The SESAAB group is an excellent example of a regional publisher that plays an essential role in the social and economic life of the communities it serves,” said Daniele Castagnotto, EidosMedia Sales Director, Italy. “In recent years the group has moved to take advantage of new technologies. Méthode will now allow them to consolidate these operations and provide a firm basis for future growth and development.”

The Méthode platform will serve a total of over 140 editorial staff in SESAAB’s newsrooms in the cities of Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Sondrio, Varese and Monza, as well as local technical staff.
